Mongolia Criminal Investigation Training

In December of 2007, I was privileged to be able to conduct a Criminal Investigation training program to the Mongolia Special Investigation Unit.  This unit is responsible for the investigation of alleged criminal activity by officials in Mongolia's justice sector.  This includes investigations of allegation against judges, prosecutors and police.  One of the main focal points of this training was investigation of torture and other forms of mistreatment, pursuant to the UN Convention Against Torture and other Cruel, Inhumane or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.  Among the primary resources for the investigative procedures was the UNHCHR's Istanbul Protocol Manual on the Effective Investigation and Documentation of Torture and other Cruel Inhumane or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.
